The solution for this problem is to have a respectable, authoritative tutorial source for PHP. Although there are lot of good write-ups encompassing articles and blogs that are accessible on the net they are lost in the horde of the bad ones. It is also a known fact that even the best writers have bad days and they can get things wrong hence it is very important to have php.net documentation which comprises of tutorials and non-language related content.
The fact that PHP docs are excellent is a well-known fact, but the way they are being depicted in the form of tutorials is the biggest issue.
